About Michael

Michael began square dancing in September 1996 with Shoreline Squares in Long Beach, CA. Even while he was still learning to dance the Mainstream program with Dave Rensberger as the caller/teacher, he wanted to learn to call. He first picked up a microphone in March 1997 and did a singing call at a local New Dancer Hoedown, mimicking the caller he heard on the back of the record…and he was hooked.

Since that time, Michael has called for many clubs, dances and festivals. He teaches classes in the San Francisco Bay Area and calls regularly for many area clubs. He also frequently teaches introductions and calls one night social events for various organizations and groups.
